Shannon Rail Services recognises that effective site access control is a vital part of the management process on rail engineering work sites. Over time the role has developed from simply controlling access and egress to the infrastructure to include monitoring fatigue, briefing staff, reporting on progress and incidents, and supervising the issue of PPE and equipment.
The paper based systems used to record these functions have now largely been replaced by electronic web-based tools and Shannon Rail Services has been at the forefront in responding to this trend. We have developed our SAMS (Site Access Monitoring System) product to provide real time web-based time & attendance and fatigue management as well as site reporting functionality. We are currently working with the Network Rail Sentinel 2 delivery team with a view to complete integration of the signing in process with the new Sentinel smart-cards.
In addition to site access controllers we can also supply welfare operatives, gate operatives, tool van operatives, store persons, car park attendants, cleaners and traffic marshals – making us the perfect one stop shop for ancillary staff.
